Classes FAQ
Everything you need to know about our private Pilates sessions
- Getting Started
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit begins with a trial where we discuss your health history, fitness goals, and any concerns. Your instructor will then guide you through a Posture Analysis, foundational Pilates movements, focusing on proper breathing, alignment, and core activation. The session is tailored to your current fitness level, so there’s no need to worry if you’re a complete beginner.
Do I need prior Pilates experience?
Absolutely not. Our private instruction is designed to meet you exactly where you are. Whether you’re completely new to Pilates or have years of experience, our instructors will customize each session to your level and goals.
What should I wear to class?
Comfortable, form-fitting athletic wear is recommended. Avoid loose or baggy clothing as it can interfere with proper form observation. Pilates is practiced in grip socks for safety on the equipment.
Should I eat before a session?
We recommend having a light meal or snack 1-2 hours before your session. Avoid heavy meals immediately before as Pilates involves core work and various body positions that may be uncomfortable on a full stomach.
- Private Sessions
Why should I do private sessions?
We believe in providing the highest quality Pilates instruction possible. Private sessions allow our instructors to give you their complete attention, ensuring proper form, personalized progressions, and a workout tailored specifically to your body and goals. This approach delivers faster results and reduces the risk of injury.
How long is a private session?
Standard private sessions are 55 minutes. This allows sufficient time for a complete workout including warm-up, focused work on equipment, and cool-down stretches.
Can I bring a friend or family member?
Yes, we offer duet sessions where you can share your session with one other person. This is a wonderful option for couples, friends, or family members who want to enjoy Pilates together while still receiving personalized attention.
How often should I take Pilates sessions?
For optimal results, we recommend 2-3 sessions per week. This frequency allows your body to develop the neuromuscular connections and strength necessary for progress, while providing adequate recovery time between sessions.
